Free! Williamsburg Breastfeeding & New Mom Support Group – Lactation Consultant Kris Kiley
As a new parent, we travel into unknown territory with feeding our babies. Bottle or breast? Can I do both? How the heck do you nurse a baby? She didn’t come with an instruction manual! We have the answer! Williamsburg’s best baby treasure is the New Mother Support Group at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center*.
The group is open to all mothers, no matter where you delivered your baby (birthing center, home birth, other hospital, etc.) It’s run by by Kris Kiley (RN, IBCLC). She has over 25 years of experience as a Lactation Consultant, and is absolutely amazing! Moms meet every Monday, Wednesday & Thursday from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. (Sorry dads, this one is just for us girls). Look for the conference room door with the privacy shade over the window. The group is very casual – come whenever, leave whenever. Mommies arrive, chat with other new moms, feed baby and consult with Kris regarding questions or concerns. There’s even has a scale so you can weigh your little one to check weight gain. Formula fed babies are also welcome! It’s also worth noting that all of Kris’ services are free of charge. Like we said, she’s awesome.
Kris is also available to give advice over the a phone. She has graciously offered to have her contact numbers posted. Don’t hesitate to call her anytime!
