Williamsburg Players presents a charming story of friendship, 84 Charing Cross Road. Based on real life Helene Hanff’s memoir. Helene writes to the London bookshop Marks & Co in search of some titles she has not been able to turn up locally. Store manager Frank Doel responds politely to her chatty letter, and over the course of two decades, a deep, long-distance friendship evolves. A movie version was made in 1987 starring Anthony Hopkins as Frank Doel and Anne Bancroft as Helene Hanff.
