Following its grand reveal in Merchants Square, the Great American Birthday Quilt will be on display throughout 2026 at the Colonial Williamsburg Regional Visitor Center. 🇺🇸🧵Created by Visit Williamsburg in partnership with the Muscarelle Museum of Art, this meaningful quilt brings together squares submitted by people across the country—each one helping tell a shared American story in celebration of the nation’s 250th birthday. Come experience this remarkable tribute up close and discover the stories stitched into every square.

Big changes are on the horizon for Nassau Street—and archaeology is uncovering the story every step of the way.
Guests are invited to join a guided walking tour to explore how discoveries at the African Baptist Meeting House and Burial Ground, Williamsburg Bray School, and Custis Square continue to shape the historic landscape seen today. Along the way, participants will learn how researchers are still piecing together the past and get a sneak peek at what the future holds for this important historic corridor.
Tour groups meet on Nassau Street outside the Taliaferro-Cole Stable. Please note: Portions of the tour include uneven terrain that may be difficult for wheelchairs and other mobility equipment. Tours are weather-dependent. Colonial Williamsburg admission required.
