Summer Swim Team Head Coach

Accepting applications for a dedicated and enthusiastic Head Coach to join our Williamsburg, Virginia (23188) summer swim team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for swimming and a commitment to teaching and developing swimmers ages 4-18 yrs with varied skill levels. As a Head Swimming Coach, you will be responsible for creating a positive and safe environment while promoting teamwork, respect, sportsmanship, physical fitness and personal growth.

Requirements:

–  Must have or obtain Red Cross lifeguard certification including CPR, AED and first aid training
–  Ability to use computer software for communication and meet entry purposes
–  Availability to attend practices, meets, and team functions

–  Background check completion

Preferred Competencies:

–  Prior coaching and/or teaching experience

–  Advanced knowledge of swimming strokes, skills, and competition
–  Prepare lessons on stroke and dive basics, practice drills and motivational challenges for the team

–  Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with children (4-18 yrs) and parents and any assistant and/or Jr coaches

Expected hours:

– ~ 20-22 hours per week (average for practices, meets, and preparation time)

– Season runs approximately 10 weeks

Salary:

Approximately $400/week
