Elementary Art teacher

Williamsburg Montessori School is seeking a PT Elementary Art Teacher for the 2025-26 school year:

Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement 1 hour art lessons once a week with both lower (1st, 2nd, 3rd grade) and upper elementary (4th, 5th, 6th grade) classrooms.  Art class time runs from approximately 1-2:00 pm for lower elementary and 2:00-2:45 pm for upper elementary, plus planning time.
Plan a variety of lessons, such as drawing, painting, sculpting, sewing, etc.
Meet with teachers regularly to coordinate lessons with current themes being taught each month.
Submit art material needs to office staff as needed.
Observe and monitor students’ progress throughout the year and add art comments to report cards twice yearly.
Communicate any questions or concerns with teachers in the classroom.
Be aware of classroom rules and be consistent with enforcing them during art class.
Monitor clean-up of art supplies and the classroom to leave the space ready for daily lessons.
Follow all school policies and procedures as stated in the Employee Handbook.
