King of Glory invites the public to join their Community Book Studies
Something new! Community Book Studies from King of Glory Lutheran Church & School! Everyone is welcome! But are you wondering if you have to be a Church member to join this book club? You are welcome to join the studies, EVEN IF you haven’t read the book. The studies will be topical, BASED on the material in the book, however, anyone could benefit, even if they haven’t read the books. How great is that?

Book List and Schedule:
Building Up the Body of Christ: JUNE 2021- AUGUST 2021
Author Bruce Hartung combines research, real stories, and personal experience that will inspire you to reevaluate best practices for loving and serving your neighbors at church.
Every Good Endeavor: SEPTEMBER 2021- NOVEMBER 2021
With deep conviction and often surprising advice, Keller shows readers that biblical wisdom is immensely relevant to our questions about work today. In fact, the Christian view of work—that we work to serve others, not ourselves—can provide the foundation of a thriving professional and balanced personal life. Keller shows how excellence, integrity, discipline, creativity, and passion in the workplace can help others and even be considered acts of worship—not just of self-interest.
God is in the Manger: DECEMBER 2021 – JANUARY 2022
“No priest, no theologian stood at the cradle of Bethlehem. And yet, all Christian theology finds its beginnings in the miracle of miracles, that God became human.” These stirring words are among forty devotions that guide and inspire readers as they move thematically through the weeks of Advent and Christmas, from waiting and mystery to redemption, incarnation, and joy. Supplemented by an informative introduction, short excerpts from Bonhoeffer’s letters, and passages from his Christmas sermons, these daily devotions are timeless and moving reminders of the true gift of Christmas.
Joining Jesus: Show Me How: FEBRUARY 2022 – MAY 2022
The way Jesus disciples people is simple and results in unschooled, ordinary followers participating in the mission of the Father and discipling others to do the same. This book will help you regain the clarity and simplicity of how Jesus disciples people in the gospels so that you can disciple your children, friends, neighbors or fellow church members to get up, follow Jesus and join him on his mission, too.
