Event Details

Jamestown Settlement presents an American Indian Intertribal Powwow on Saturday and Sunday, October 12 & 13, featuring song and dance by members of American Indian tribes, storytelling and children’s activities. Festivities from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. include:

  • Powwow Singing & Dancing – A Grand Entry with a parade of dancers will take place at 12:30 p.m. each day in a dance circle on the museum mall, followed by an afternoon of singing and dancing until 4:30 p.m.
  • Music & Storytelling – Enjoy performances by Diné flute player Emerson Begay, and American Indian stories told by Grace Ostrum of the Accohannock each day.
  • Children’s Activities – Children and families will have the opportunity to make and design their own American Indian rattles.
  • Vendors on the museum mall will have a selection of American Indian artwork, pottery and quillwork available for purchase.

Jamestown Settlement is located on Route 31 just southwest of Williamsburg, VA.
