Flags for Heroes Coming to Veterans Park for Veterans Day
The Rotary Club of James City County will display 100 U.S. flags
in grateful appreciation of our active, retired, and military veterans and first
responders the week of Veterans Day.
Williamsburg, VA November 9, 2019 — The James City County Rotary Club members in Williamsburg are providing a gift to the community to honor active, retired and military veterans, and first responders the week of Veterans Day.
WHAT: 100 U.S. Flags Display
WHEN: November 9th– November 16th
In addition to the flag display, Soldiers from Fort Eustis and Cadets from the College of William and Mary Army ROTC Battalion will each stand guard on separate occasions (Veterans Day from 9:00am to 1:00pm).
Rotary Clubs around the country generally use the display as a fundraiser in their communities, but our club has
decided to display these flags this year as a gift to thank the community for supporting our fundraisers that benefit multiple local charities. The gift is inspired by several members who are retired military and veterans.
