Pedal the Parkway – A section of the Colonial Parkway will be dedicated to biking, walking or running

The National Park Service (NPS) at Colonial National Historical Park invites the community to recreate on a seven-mile section of the Colonial Parkway on May 6 & 7.

Park staff will close the Parkway to vehicle access between Hwy 199/Kingspoint and Rt. 359 at Jamestown from 6:00 am-5:00 pm.

Free parking is available at Jamestown Settlement, on Jamestown Island, and along the parkway at the pullouts on either end of the closure. The settlement will probably have the easiest access to the parkway and the most amount of parking.  Indoor restrooms are available at the Jamestown Visitor Center.

Visitors should have a valid park pass when visiting/recreating within the park (kids ages 15 and under are free). This could be a single visit pass or any of the annual and/or lifetime passes offered as part of the Federal Lands Recreation pass program. Passes or daily entrance fees can be purchased using the QR codes on signs along the parkway. More info on the available passes: Fees & Passes – Colonial National Historical Park (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)
