Waller Mill Park
Waller Mill Park is a 2,705-acre park situated around a reservoir that opened to the public in July 1972. The 360-acre lake is open for fishing, boating, pedal boating, canoeing and kayaking with a tunnel connecting the upper and lower sections of the lake. Numerous picnic tables, picnic shelters, play fields, and playground equipment are nestled among the trees providing scenic picnic areas. Be sure to keep you and your family’s commitment to health & fitness strong by getting out and enjoying the many amenities our park has to offer.
Waller Mill Dog Park
The 1 ½ acre dog park at Waller Mill Park is an unleashed dog park with two areas for dogs to run. One fenced area is for smaller dogs weighing 30 lbs. or less, and the other fence area is for all dogs. Memberships available at the boathouse with proof of rabies vaccination and dog license.
Disc Golf Course
Waller Mill Park is home to an 18-hole Disc Golf course. Disc Golf is played in much the same fashion as traditional golf but uses thrown discs instead of a struck ball. The sport, which was first played in the 1970s, shares a similar goal with traditional golf of completing a hole in the fewest number of strokes (or in this case, throws!). Players will have a choice of two tee pads at each hole from which to throw their discs along the fairway towards the metal basket.
Daily Pass: $2.00/pp
Annual Pass: $37.00/pp (good for 1 year from date of purchase & includes vehicle entrance)
Disc Rental: $1/Per Disc, Per Day
Picnic Shelter Rentals
Are you planning a fun family event or birthday party this spring or summer? Rent one of our four picnic shelters at Waller Mill Park. There is so much to see and do at the park to add to your special event. Our shelters can accommodate up to 150 people depending on the shelter rented. Corn hole & disc golf are available for rent too! Contact the office for more information at (757) 259-3778 or visit www.williamsburgva.gov/rec under Waller Mill Park.
Our wooded hiking trails provide 6 ¼ miles of picturesque walk with water and wooded views. A two-mile asphalt bike trail offers a scenic connection between Mooretown and Rochambeau Roads. A short hike from the park along the asphalt bike trail will bring you to the Lookout Tower, which offers a panoramic view of the water and woodlands.
Canoe and kayak rentals are seasonal. Jon boats and pedal boats can be rented year round. Paddleboards are not permitted.
Fishing at the park’s lake is always a source of enjoyment for young and old alike. Within the clear waters, maintained populations of largemouth bass, striped bass, perch, brim, crappie and more await your hook. Fishing docks are accessible to wheelchairs. Fishing poles are available for rental as well as bait and tackle for purchase. 16 and older must have a fishing license to fish from boats and piers.
