The Yorktown Farmers’ Market was voted Best Farmers Market in Hampton Roads and it runs Every Saturday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (till October 31). Good news, originally there was not going to be a Market on Oct. 3 but one has recently been added!
Markets are rain or shine because they can move into the large parking garage at the river front. During the regular season, and even into the holiday months, you’ll find several extended markets with fun family-friendly themes! Themed markets are listed below – keep scrolling!
Shop for seasonal produce; fresh seafood; meats; breads; handmade soaps and candles; honey; gourmet dog treats; and a beautiful display of work from local artists and artisans. While most vendors accept credit cards, some only take cash. There are ATMs conveniently located at Ben & Jerry’s and Yorktown Pub.
Once the weekly season ends, there are three special holiday markets that include favorite Thanksgiving foods, visits from Santa, and plenty of shopping opportunities!

COVID-19 Safety Procedures
We are taking important precautions to keep our customers and vendors safe amidst COVID-19 concerns, including required spacing between vendors and a setup to avoid congestion in typically high-traffic areas. Vendors and staff who are engaging with customers are required to wear face coverings, and there will be no open sampling of any food. Hand sanitizer stations will be set up as you enter, as well as signs stating that no one with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19, or known exposure to a COVID-19 case in the prior 14 days, is permitted to shop the market.
Many vendors plan to offer preorder, prepayment, and pickup options to minimize contact. Please reach out to individual businesses to communicate plans and make arrangements.
Location & Parking:
Just put 331 Water Street into your GPS. Free parking is available at the Riverwalk Landing parking terrace, York Hall, York-Poquoson Courthouse, County Administration Building, and other designated public parking lots. The complimentary, wheelchair accessible Yorktown Trolley is available for this market, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with several convenient stops throughout town.
The 2020 season starts mid-April, and the market runs every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m (except May 2, July 4) through the end of October. During the regular season, and even into the holiday months, you’ll find several extended markets with fun family-friendly themes! Check them out.
Yorktown Farmers Market Accept SNAP!
Yorktown Market Days is excited to participate in the USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to help ensure all families in our community have access to fresh fruits, vegetables, and other healthy food options. Qualifying participants will be able to purchase special tokens with their SNAP-EBT cards they can then use at participating vendors. NEW this year, the market also participates in Virginia’s Fresh Match Program. SNAP customers get one dollar for every dollar they spend on fruits and vegetables. It’s easy! In addition to SNAP-EBT cards, many vendors accept credit cards. However, some only take cash. ATMs are conveniently located at Ben & Jerry’s and Yorktown Pub.
