You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at our facilities, learn more about their carriages, and get up close and personal with some of their beautiful animals during the Stables Behind-the-Scene tour.

We got to play tourist a bit over the holidays and this is one tour you definitely don’t want to miss! Your guide kicks things off by taking you behind the scenes of the stables, chatting about rare-breed sheep, their wool, and how it’s used. But just when you think you know where the tour is headed – surprise! You’re suddenly up close with stunning historic carriages, and before you know it, you’re stepping right into the stables themselves. Inside, you’ll meet the dedicated caretaker preserving the rare and beautiful Cleveland Bay horses at Colonial Williamsburg. The tour wraps up on the sweetest note with a visit to a friendly horse who was more than happy to soak up all the pats. A behind-the-scenes experience full of surprises, history, and animal love! These tours are daily at 1 pm. You need admission to CW or your Good Neighbor Pass and then there is an $8 fee. Worth it? Definitely.

This tour is $8 per person and lasts approximately one hour. You meet at the corner of Botetourt and Nicholson Streets after purchasing your ticket. You also need to have a CW admission ticket, Annual Membership or your Good Neighbor Pass. This is an add on experience (ticket) to your CW Admission, Membership or GNP!
