Please join us for a special celebration honoring the incredible work of Albert Durant, Williamsburg’s very first Black city-licensed photographer! 🌟
Durant’s priceless photography collection—housed at the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Library—provides a stunning, vital visual history of Black life in Williamsburg and our surrounding communities from the late 1930s through the early 1960s. 🎞️❤️
What to expect: đź“Ś Learn more about recent, exciting projects happening with the Albert Durant Photography Collection. đź‘Ą Participate in interactive photo identification sessions to help library associates match more names with the historic individuals captured in his photos!
