Colonial Williamsburg’s 78th Annual Antiques Forum, That the Future May Learn from the Past, brings together leading experts and extraordinary collections from the U.S. and abroad. The 2026 program marks 250 years of American independence and celebrates a century of collecting and bringing history to life at Colonial Williamsburg, examining how material culture and the decorative arts continue to inspire the future.
The Forum features wide-ranging perspectives, from Revolutionary-era flags and the German Shrank in Virginia to Colonial Revival architecture, landmark preservation projects, and the restoration of England’s Castle Howard. Sessions also explore the Wyeths as collectors, Paul Revere’s silver shop records, and new scholarship through the Carolyn and Michael McNamara Young Scholars Series. There are pre-conference and post-conference options.
Colonial Williamsburg staff highlight the depth of the collections with talks on Abby Aldrich Rockefeller, a presidential mourning ring, archaeology and archives, early Craft House history, the “Original 88” buildings, and the new exhibition Colonial Williamsburg: The First 100 Years, along with a series of dynamic mini lectures on iconic Williamsburg.
In-person registration ends February 6, 2026. Virtual registration ends February 21, 2026. For more information, including agendas and registration, see here.
