The annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, co-sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg, welcomes guests to gather on the Courthouse steps for a festive evening. The celebration begins with a reading of The Night Before Christmas, followed by the story of Virginia’s first Christmas tree and classic carol singing. The highlight of the night comes as a 40-foot spruce–glowing with more than 7,500 twinkling lights–brightens Market Square and captures the magic of the season.
