S.T.E.A.M. Fest at the Airport

Please join the Williamsburg Regional Library Bookmobile for S.T.E.A.M. Fest at the Williamsburg-Jamestown Airport. Each program requires a separate registration unless noted otherwise.

Slime Time! (Monday, April 1 10AM) 

Let’s make some cool slime together! We have all the ingredients you’ll need; just choose how you want your slime to look like with paint, glitter, and other art supplies! Space is limited and registration is required. Please call 757-741-3324 to register. 

What Is in that Bottle? (Tuesday, April 2 10AM) 

Pick through random knick-knacks and create your very own bottle inspired by the beloved I Spy books. Space is limited and registration is required.  Please call 757-741-3324 to register. 

Tank Away! (Wednesday, April 3 10AM) 

Join us to learn about the ocean, the creatures that inhabit it, and sea/amphibious planes. Come and talk with pilots and see up close a real plane that lands in water! Have some hands-on fun making your own take-home aquarium in a jar complete with gravel, water, and sea creatures of your own!  Plus, make a paper seaplane. Please call 757-741-3324 to register. 

Createapult (Thursday, April 4 10AM) 

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to make your own catapult? Join us and you can create your very own popsicle stick catapult! Learn how they work and test your skills in engineering the perfect siege machine. Please call 757-741-3324 to register. 

Dinosaur Dig (Friday, April 5 10AM) 

Be a paleontologist for a day! Dig for dinosaurs to take home. Registration is not required. (We are planning to have this outside. We have tents)

Fancy Flights (Saturday, April 6 10AM – 12PM ) 

Experience the aerodynamic forces that make flight possible by testing out a variety of stomp rockets and paper airplanes. Increase the flight time and distance of paper airplanes by fitting them with paper-plane-engines, designed to provide up to 30 seconds of flight time. Enjoy other interactive science activities, including Roller Coaster Challenge, Legos, and Epic Dominos. Registration is not required.
