Intro to Painting Furniture – Holiday Special, Sat., Dec. 13 2014

During this 3 hour workshop, finish various sample boards while creating a whimsical Christmas Tree.

Learn to:

create both smooth & textured finishes

sand paper distressing and wet distressing

work with clear wax and metallic mica added for shimmer and color

experiment with brown glaze, clear glaze, and white wash finishes

apply American Paint Company’s Top Coat for surfaces needing a stronger finish

experiment with the award winning General Finishes products

For this workshop, the studio opens at 9:00 am and class begins at 9:30 am.

During the morning break, we share a light continental breakfast.  Come prepared to have fun, relax and let your creative brain unfold.

At The Velvet Rocker we sell all natural clay/chalk paints and pre-mixed milk paints that are designed for painting furniture. We restore and paint furniture which is available for sale in our shop and offer DIY paint workshops for a variety of personalized home décor projects. The shop carries unique and creative home décor items and gifts for special occasions.
