Pickleball has made quite a rise in the last 5 years. The game falls somewhere between tennis, badminton and ping pong. Sounds interesting right! Play with doubles (two players per team) or singles. Play indoor or outdoor. And I think one of main reason pickleball is popular is because its a game for all ages!
I played for the first time last summer and immediately got caught up in the excitment. For our family it was a sport that the adults could play with our teens and we were all pretty much on a level playing field. The goal is to hit the plastic ball over the net with your paddle. The court is much smaller than a tennis court, about the size of a badminton court therefore a smaller area to cover. The hard plastic ball has holes, much like a wiffle ball. It is not as fast as a tennis ball, so we all had much better control and the volleying back and forth lasted much longer.

Basic Rules of Pickleball
- Serve at the baseline – You can drop serve or throw the ball up and hit it
- Serves have to land in the zone and land in the diagonal box
- If the server scores then they move to the box next to them to serve, they continue back and forth until they fault
- There must be one bounce per side
- The game ends at 11 points – only the serving team scores
