Recreate a work of art from the Muscarelle’s permanent collection in chalk! We will have print-outs of a selection of artworks for you to choose from. We will also provide chalk, brushes and a gridded layout for you to work in, and staff and volunteers will be on-site to provide tips and support. You may reproduce the work of art precisely, or you may reinterpret and reimagine it using your own creativity. Groups may be any size. It’s helpful but not essential to have at least one person in your group with some artistic confidence and skill. It takes a five-person group about 2.5 hours to complete a 8’x8′ chalk artwork. Work must be completed by 3:00 PM. Winners will be selected by our panel of judges and announced during the Artist Awards Mixer at 5:30 PM. Register your group below (one registration per group). Registration is also available on-site at the event.
All materials will be provided. You may wish to bring a folded blanket or knee pad to provide a cushion, as you will be working on the pavement. If the day is sunny, participants are allowed to bring umbrellas or a small tent (no larger than 10′ x 10′) to provide shade. Tents must be weighted to prevent shifting. Questions?
