Reading of the Declaration of Independence

Join your fellow citizens on the steps of the historic Nelson House for a moving reading of the Declaration of Independence at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 18—the eve of Yorktown Day. Reflect on the courage and vision of America’s Founding Fathers in the very place where our nation secured its independence.
Following the reading, Branch Fields, a vocal artist from Williamsburg, will perform the National Anthem.
