American Revolution Museum at Yorktown
Join living-history interpreter Robert Brantley for a hands-on workshop about the importance of chocolate in 17th- and 18th-century colonial America.
Participants will help roast, shell and grind cocoa beans into chocolate. At the end of the workshop, visitors will be able to take a sample of the handmade chocolate home or eat it on the spot!
Tickets are $30 per person. Museum members enjoy a 20% discount. The workshop is designed for ages 13+. More Info & Tickets
Robert Brantley – Robert Brantley has served as a historical interpreter at the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation (JYF) since 2016. He focuses on researching and perfecting 17th-century cooking at the Jamestown Settlement. Prior to his tenure at JYF, Brantley worked in the Colonial Williamsburg Foodways Program for 25 years, earning his Apprenticeship. His special skills include open-hearth cooking, brewing beer and using historical methods to make ice cream and chocolate.
