Election Voting York County

November 3, 2026 General Election – On November 3, 2026, York County voters will be be able to vote for a member of the U.S. Senate, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, and to consider three proposed amendments to the Constitution of Virginia as well as a local sales tax referendum.  

On Election Day, November 3, all regular York County polling places will be open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. If you are in line at 7 p.m., you are still able to vote – do not get out of line.  Visit York County’s election information page

Early In person Voting

• Early In Person:In-person voting for York County voters is available at the locations, dates, and hours listed below beginning Friday, September 18, and ending Saturday, October 31.
  • 5322 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
    • Saturday hours: October 24 and 31, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
    • Sunday hours: October 18 and 25, 12 p.m.-5 p.m. 
  • 6614 Mooretown Rd., Ste. A, Williamsburg, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
    • Saturday hours: October 24 and 31, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
    • Sunday hours: October 18 and 25, 12 p.m.- 5 p.m.
  • Both locations will be closed on October 19 in observance of Yorktown Day.

Voter Registration

The Constitution of Virginia requires that voters be registered in the precinct in which they live in order to be qualified to vote. The deadline to register to vote in the election, or to update one’s registration information in time for the election, is Friday, October 23. If you will turn 18 on or before November 3, 2026 you are eligible to register and vote in this election.

Voters who are members of the uniformed services or who are overseas may visit the Department of Elections for information on how to ensure they are able to vote in this election.

 There are three ways you can register or update your voter registration information:

1. Online, through the Citizen Portal. 
2. A copy of the voter registration form is also available online and can be printed off, completed, signed, and then mailed or brought to the Registrar’s Office.
3. In person at one of our two office locations:
   1. Washington Square, 5322 Geo. Wash. Mem. Hwy, Yorktown — Monday-Friday — 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
   2. Victory Village, 6614 Mooretown Rd., Ste. A, Williamsburg — Monday-Friday — 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Am I already registered?

You are able to look up your voter registration information online. Once you provide the requested information, you will be told which districts you live in, where your polling place is, and your voting history.

Voting by Mail

• All Virginia voters may request a ballot by mail until 5 p.m. on Friday, October 23.
  • You can apply online using the Citizen Portal or download a form to complete, sign and submit to our office
• You can return your ballot one of two ways:
  • By mail (USPS), or commercial delivery service (FedEx, UPS, DHL). OR
  • To one of our dropboxes. Ballot dropboxes will be available the same dates, times, and locations listed above for early in person voting as well as on Monday, November 2, from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.. Dropboxes will also be available at all York County polling places on November 3 from 6 a.m.-7 p.m.
