Independence Day 8k & 5k

Independence Day 8K Run/Walk/Ruck and 5K Run/Walk

📅Saturday, July 4
🕞7 AM – 10:30 AM
📍Yorktown Battlefield

The Fourth of July may be remembered for the Declaration of Independence, but where would we be without the defeat of Cornwallis at Yorktown? Register to walk or run where the American and French allies won the last major battle of the Revolutionary War.

This is a chip-timed 8K event on the scenic roads and trails of the Yorktown Battlefield that participants can run or walk. Walkers and shorter distance runners are invited to an untimed 5K Fun Run at 8:30 a.m.  Both runs begin and end near Surrender Field.
The race is run on the Historic Battlefield Tour Road. Participants will gather near York High School and be led to the start by Fife and Drummers, with race-day packet pick-up available from 7–8:30 a.m. All registrants receive a custom race T-shirt (guaranteed by June 24), with 8K finishers also eligible for medals and age group awards, plus a special Ruck division. 5K participants will receive a finisher coin while supplies last. Stick around after the race for refreshments and a festive post-race celebration!

Preregistration is recommended online here.
