Michael David Kelly – Lifegroup Director – First Baptist Norfolk, Norfolk, VA

About Michael :
Michael Kelly is a devoted leader with a heart for men’s discipleship and spiritual
growth. With a Master of Divinity from Liberty University, he brings a deep
understanding of theology and practical application to his ministry.

Men’s Ministry and Discipleship:
As the Lifegroup Director at First Baptist Norfolk, he is committed to equipping Lifegroup
Leaders to become strong disciples of Christ. Drawing from his 18 years of service in
the Navy and experience as a lay leader at various commands, he understands the
unique challenges men face in their spiritual journey. Through his dynamic teaching
style, Michael empowers men to deepen their relationship with God, strengthen their
families, and impact their communities for Christ.

Speaking Engagements:
Michael is a sought-after speaker who has shared his insights on men’s ministry and
discipleship at churches across Virginia Beach and beyond. His practical approach,
rooted in biblical truth and personal experience, resonates with audiences of all ages.
Additionally, he volunteers his time to serve as a guest minister at senior living
community Chapel services, bringing encouragement and hope to residents.
Leadership and Training:

As part of his ministry, Michael leads Lifegroup Leader training sessions quarterly,
empowering leaders to effectively shepherd and mentor others in their faith journey. He
also leads a Lifegroup focusing on Parents of Special Children, bringing hope to those
who he serves in the group. He has also developed a comprehensive 12-week planner
focused on mentoring relationships, designed to guide individuals in both mentoring
someone else and being mentored themselves.
