The Celtic Film Series in the Williamsburg Library Theatre runs the 2nd Thursday of each month from September 2025 through May 2026.
December 11 at 6 pm – Sing Street (2016) PG-13 – In 1980s-era Dublin, a young teenager struggling with family and school issues falls for a lovely girl and forms a band to win her heart. Ferdia Walsh-Peelo, Kelly Thornton, and Maria Doyle Kennedy star under the direction of John Carney in this charming film. 1hr 46 min
January 8 at 5 pm – Ryan’s Daughter (1970) R The great David Lean directed this old-fashioned epic romance about a headstrong girl living in a small Irish village who scandalizes the community by having an affair with a handsome British military officer. Robert Bolt wrote the script with Robert Mitchum, Sarah Miles and Trevor Howard starring. 3hrs 20min.
