Free children’s art contest by Arts for Learning Virginia
Arts for Learning Virginia, an arts-in-education nonprofit, is sponsoring a free art contest for children. It runs through June 30 and is designed for elementary school children in Virginia to say “thank you” to our community’s essential workers.
From doctors and nurses on the frontlines to members of the military and delivery persons, the Covid-19 crisis has taught us all the importance of essential workers in our community.
Arts for Learning Virginia is saluting hardworking essential workers in our state in the way we know best—through art. Children can draw, write a story or poem, play music, sing, dance, or use any other art form they choose to say “thank you” to our essential workers.
There is no cost to enter. “An Artful Thanks” runs through June 30 and is open to Virginia students in kindergarten through fifth grades. K-2 nd and 3rd-5th grades will be judged separately, with two winners in each age group awarded $25 Amazon gift cards.
