Institute for Dance is registering for 2025-26 Season
Institute for Dance is now registering for the 2025-26 season! iDance provides excellent dance education in the Williamsburg area, offering 65+ dance classes a week in multiple styles including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and more for youth of all ages. iDance, a non-profit studio whose mission is to provide the best training and performance opportunities for our community, is also home to two dance companies, The Movement Dance Company and The Movement Ballet, as well as their Community Performers group who perform at events throughout our local area.
Plan to attend Open Registration on Saturday, August 23rd from 10am-12:30pm, Wednesday, August 27th from 4:30-7pm or Tuesday, September 2nd from 4:30-7pm. There will be instructors there to evaluate and place students in the appropriate class and offer studio tours.
New to dance? This unique class is designed for the older beginning student with little or no experience in ballet and contemporary training. Dancers are introduced to the history and concepts of classical ballet. Barre work incorporates learning and mastering ballet alignment, core strength, muscle strength and stamina, flexibility, and working with music. The instructor will blend elements of Lyrical and Modern dance. Contemporary ballet allows students to explore their individual dance styles outside of the structure of traditional ballet classes.
