Military Appreciation Weekend Yorktown June 9, 10 & 11, 2023
Join us for a weekend-long patriotic salute to our Armed Forces as we celebrate the contributions of our American heroes.
FRIDAY JUNE 9: The event kicks off on Friday, June 9 at 6 p.m. at the Watermen’s Museum with a lecture called “A Question of Religious Freedom: The 1773 Baptist Preacher Trials.”
SATURDAY JUNE 10: Event Schedule
- 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Royal Atlantic Ceremonial Band (Riverwalk Landing)
- 10 a.m.: Colonial 1773 Militia Muster (York Hall); WWI, WWII Living History, 1812 Living History, and Quantico Marine Corps Museum Exhibit (Watermen’s Museum); Community Partner Expo (Riverwalk Landing)
- 10:30 a.m.: Colonial Games and Past times (York Hall)
- 11 a.m.: Fifes and Drums of York Town (Victory Monument)
- 11:30 a.m.: Militia Participatory Drill (York Hall) and Cannon Demonstration (Watermen’s Museum); Storyteller at Baptist Preacher Trials (York Hall)
- 12 p.m.: Roll of Honor Veterans Ceremony (Watermen’s Museum)
- 12:30 p.m.: Colonial Games and Past times (York Hall)
- 1 p.m.: Music – Patriotic Singalong (Watermen’s Museum)
- 1:30 p.m.: Storyteller – Tales of the Sea (York Hall); Cannon Demonstration (Watermen’s Museum)
