New Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge – Opening May 23, 2025 – here’s our review

The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge opens to the public this Friday, May 23 — we had the chance to ride this all-new family-friendly inverted roller coaster it last Friday during Media Day. Here’s the rundown:

This new coaster is inspired by the original Big Bad Wolf ride, which operated in the park from June 15, 1984, to September 7, 2009 — running for more than 25 years! The theme is similar to the original, featuring a Bavarian village, but this version adds a pit and large stakes that rise from the ground. Is it fun? Yes!

Stats:
Track Traveled: 2,583 feet
Speed: 40 MPH
42 inches to ride with a companion
48 inches to ride alone

The original Big Bad Wolf stood where Verbolten is located today. The new version of Big Bad Wolf uses the station building from Drachen Fire, the ride that operated from 1992 to 1998.

The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge coaster, with its strong lineage, makes for a great first coaster. It’s somewhere between InvadR and Alpengeist in terms of thrill level. Kids will love it, and so will anyone who enjoys a zippy, and remarkably smooth ride. The theming is well done, and you’ll want to ride it multiple times to catch all the details.

We didn’t get to experience it at night, but we were told that the wolf’s eyes on the front of the train light up and shine across the village as you zoom by.

It’s is a definite, “yes” for everyone in the family (who is tall enough)!
