Where to Park in Colonial Williamsburg Area including the Library, Skryker Building and Merchants Square

Can you park for free in the Historic Area? Actually yes, but you are looking at a max of two hours at select lots and 1 hour for street parking. City Square Parking Terrace, located at 401 N. Boundary St., has 125 spaces of short-term free parking located across the street from the Stryker Center and Williamsburg Library. The image above shows free parking as blue and orange (unless otherwise noted). There are other streets including Prince George St. that have 1 hour street parking. All streets have signs indicating parking and limits.

What are parking rates in the Historic Area? At a paid parking lot in Colonial Williamsburg or at the Prince George Parking Garage your first 30 min – 2 hours free depending on the lot. After that if you add time on the Passport App (parking app all lots use in the Historic Area), you are charged $1-2 an hour depending on the lot check – the signage. There is a daily max of $12 in the Prince George Parking Garage. After the free 30 min at the Visitor Center, you are charged $10 for the day. Keep scrolling for each lot’s information

How does the Passport App work? Just download the Passport App from Google Play Store or App Store onto your phone. Add a payment method and the car you are parking’s license plate. It will ask what parking lot you are in – (they all start with our area code 757__). The parking lot numbers are on the signs in each parking lot. You will enter the amount of time you estimate you will be parked – we always estimate on the low side because, when you begin to run out of time while shopping or dining, you will get a reminder notification on your phone. Just add parking time through the app, no need to return to your car.

How much would you pay for a farmers market visit or lunch? So if you go to the Farmers Market and you stay for the full four hours – you would pay $4. If go for lunch or dinner, you might pay $1 -$4.

Parking Fees Support Colonial Williamsburg: Colonial Williamsburg Foundation receives no federal support and is funded through the generosity of their guests.

Can I charge my electric vehicle? Yes, there are two Universal Charging Stations on the first level and two Tesla Charging Stations on the second level of the City of Williamsburg’s Prince George Parking Garage.

Paid City of Williamsburg Parking:

Prince George Parking Garage – is the City’s only paid parking lot, located at 230 N. Henry St. Parking is available to the public – the first 30 minutes are free and then $1/hour afterward (max. $12/day). Daily and Hourly Parking Daily and hourly parking in the Prince George Parking Garage is paid for and managed through the Passport app or through the first-floor kiosk of the parking garage. The garage accepts credit and debit cards only. Cash is not accepted. It has 362 parking spaces, as well as charging locations for electric vehicles. There are two Universal Charging Stations on the first level and two Tesla Charging Stations on the second level.
