Burning of the Socks/Canoe & Kayak Season Kick-Off

Celebrate the arrival of spring with a fun and unique paddling tradition on the Chesapeake Bay. Inspired by a sailor’s custom near Annapolis, guests will take part in a symbolic sock-burning—no need for socks once the water shoes go on! Participants are asked to bring a pair of natural fiber socks to add to the ritual fire.
