On Saturday, February 8, from 10 AM to 3 PM, the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown will host “Love, Revolutionary Style,” a festive celebration featuring romantic gifts, sweet treats, live music, and engaging activities.
💌 Love Letters & Sweet Treats
At 11 AM, guests can craft their own vintage-style Valentine’s Day cards using classic paper doilies. Later, at 1 PM, Aroma’s pastry chef will lead a cookie decorating session in the museum lobby, offering a hands-on way to celebrate the holiday with something sweet.
📚 Book Signing with Libby McNamee
Author Libby Carty McNamee will be signing copies of her book, Dolley Madison and the War of 1812: America’s First Lady, which brings to life the remarkable story of Dolley Madison’s bravery during one of the nation’s most turbulent times. Ideal for middle-school readers, the book blends rich historical detail with an engaging narrative.
🎶 Live Music – A Soundtrack for Romance
From 1-3 PM, musician Timothy Seaman will perform live on the hammered dulcimer, adding a melodic backdrop to the day’s festivities. Recordings of his music will also be available for purchase in the museum shop.
🎁 Gifts from the Heart
The museum shop will offer a selection of thoughtful Valentine’s Day gifts, with staff available to assist shoppers in finding the perfect present for their loved ones.
