Yorktown will remember those who served at the following special ceremonies on Memorial Day.

The cemetery is the eternal resting place of veterans from the Revolutionary War, Civil War, Philippine Insurrection, World Wars 1 & 2, Korea, Cold War, and Vietnam. Memorial Day Ceremony at York Hall

Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 824 will serve as the Color Guard. Wreath laying ceremonies will be conducted by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 13 and the Comte De Grasse Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. Flags will be presented by the York High School Junior ROTC. The ceremony includes the playing of “Taps.”The Memorial Day remembrance program is sponsored each year by the York County Historical Committee. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held indoors in York Hall’s second floor Board Meeting Room.
