Rising 3rd-6th graders, join us for artmaking workshops this summer. You’ll be inspired by our galleries and living-history areas and try out a new artistic technique in a fun, casual environment with a teaching artist.

Mosaic Workshop
Thursday, June 26 • American Revolution Museum at Yorktown
Design your own miniature mosaic masterpiece inspired by two mosaics in our ‘Patrons and Patriots’ exhibition at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. Explore stories mosaics have been used to tell, understand the basics of how mosaic art is produced and create your own mosaic to take home.
Plein Air Painting Workshop

Have you ever wanted to paint outside? Join the list of artists who have painted what they saw in the world around them. Find your favorite spot in the living-history areas of Jamestown Settlement, settle in and create a plein air print to take home.
Printmaking Workshop
Thursday, August 21 • Jamestown Settlement
Printmaking has been used all over the world to express many different viewpoints while demonstrating creativity. Share your perspective, too. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore linocut printmaking with a teaching artist. Find your inspiration for a piece and create a 4×6-inch print.
