American Revolution Museum at Yorktown 50th Anniversary
April 1, 2026 • 3 p.m.
Come celebrate the 50th anniversary of the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown with a sweet surprise, artillery salute and special remarks marking the museum’s milestone.
They are Golden! Opening on April 1, 1976 as the Yorktown Victory Center for America’s Bicentennial, the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown underwent a renaming and transformation in 2016 to offer an experience so that visitors see how a revolution changed the world.
With 50 years of storytelling sharing how the Revolution still shapes us today, the museum features a 22-acre site presenting outdoor living history and 80,000-square-feet of indoor exhibits capturing the epic scale of the War for Independence. View a rare 1776 Declaration of Independence broadside, experience a 4D film and get hands-on with history.
This event is included with general admission to the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. More Info
Residents of James City County, York County and the City of Williamsburg, including William & Mary students, receive free general museum admission with proof of residency. For more information, call (757) 253-4838.
