Fill the Canoe

Bring non-perishable food items and place them in the canoe in the main lobby of the Virginia Living Museum. Help fill pantries and tables for local families in need.
Donations will directly go to Virginia Peninsula Foodbank to help stock local food pantries which support families on the Peninsula. The Museum is proud to serve as a community drop-off point during the holiday season.
Food donations are welcome during any visit. Regular Museum admission applies for exhibit access.
Needed Food Items:
- Canned meats (tuna, salmon, chicken, corned beef, Spam)
- Canned vegetables (string beans, butter beans, carrots, potatoes)
- Canned fruits (light syrup, less sugar, all natural, or in own juice)
- Canned or dry beans (baked, pinto, kidney)
- Hearty meaty soups
- Spaghetti and pasta
- Hot and cold cereal
- Peanut butter and jelly
- Herbs and spices
- Instant potatoes
- Brown and white rice
- 100% fruit or vegetable juices
- Healthy snacks (granola bars)
- Condiments (soy sauce, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, etc.)
- Kitchen essentials (cooking oil, flour, sugar, etc.)
- Baby food and formula
