Ford’s Colony Dance Band Salute to the End of World War II

Ford’s Colony Dance Band 3rd Annual “Salute to the End of WWII”

The 17-piece Ford’s Colony Dance Band will perform their 3rd annual “Salute to the End of WWII” on Thursday, November 9th, two days before Veterans Day, starting at 7:30pm at Williamsburg Regional Library at 515 Scotland Street.

The band will once again create Benny Goodman’s weekly radio broadcasts, “Let’s Dance”, with updates by war correspondents from the battle field between 1939 and 1945.  Each update will be followed by an all-new selection of songs from that era, such as: Glenn Miller’s “A String of Pearls” and “Little Brown Jug”, Sammy Cahn’s “It’s Been a Long, Long Time”, Frank Sinatra’s “I’ll Be Seeing You“, Irving Berlin’s “God Bless America”, and the Andrews sisters’ big hit: “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”, featuring Ford’s Colony’s own female trio.  Come and experience what life was like in homes across America during the war.

Admission is free – donations are accepted.
