NEW PROGRAM – FULL MOON HIKES! in Freedom Park – four select dates – FREE
Ever wondered what animals are lurking once the sun goes down? Do you enjoy guessing what could be making that weird noise in the trees around you? There are four nights remaining to explore Freedom Park after dark during the full moon nights of spring and summer! In this self-guided hike, the Park will be open late, past sunset, on select nights (see below).
After sunset, visitors may only use Multiuse Trail 3; the full moon hikes are a walking loop that start and end here. The one-mile, paved ADA-compliant trail winds through wooded forest and the Colby Swamp. Users must depart the park by the closing time (see below) and must stay on Trail 3 after sunset. Freedom Park is located at 5537 Centerville Road.
No registration required. For more information, call the park at 757-259-4022 between 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily for more information. Free! Weather permitting. Happy trailing!
