✨ Parents as Teachers (PAT) – Supporting Local Families ✨

A child’s early years are the most important for learning. Parents as Teachers (PAT) helps families overcome obstacles that can get in the way of early learning and empowers parents to be their child’s first and most important teacher. PAT staff can also link families to community resources that can help support them during and after their pregnancy.  A mother can receive help or support for breastfeeding in the home or during breastfeeding support groups. Once born, the baby can receive screenings and help with health and development with PAT staff. 👉 Learn more

Where: Families take part in twice-monthly home visits and can attend parent groups and playgroups.

How:

  • PAT helps families access health care, understand child development and behavior, and use play activities to promote learning.
  • Home visitors screen for child development, health, hearing, vision, and safety needs.
  • PAT also supports pregnant families with prenatal development, health, nutrition, and newborn care.
