Coffee & Doughnuts at Shields’ Tavern
8:30 am – 11 am
Royal Cup coffee, house-made doughnuts, and bottled water will be available at Shields’ Tavern from 8:30–11:00 AM—a fitting beginning before one of the day’s most meaningful traditions: the reading of the Declaration of Independence at the nearby Capitol Building.

Step inside Shields Tavern this July 4 for a hearty buffet lunch served from 11:00AM to 6:00PM. Beat the heat, gather with family and friends and enjoy a satisfying meal to keep you fueled for an afternoon of celebration and the evening fireworks.

Celebrate Independence Day from one of the best vantage points: the Social Terrace at the Williamsburg Inn. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of festive bites, lively energy, and fun for all ages, then settle in as fireworks launch from the Golden Horseshoe Golf Course and light up the sky over the south side of Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area.
