It’s a community celebration to honor the proud traditions of the watermen of the Chesapeake Bay and its estuaries—including the York River. During Yorktown’s Maritime Market on November 9—sample some of the best seafood in the area including oysters, clam chowder, and Virginia blue crabs. Learn how to make lobster rolls and garlic-lime shrimp during live chef cooking demonstrations. Kids get to mingle with Pirates. It’s a pre-Thanksgiving cornucopia of fun during Yorktown’s annual Harvest Festival. On November 16—be sure to head down to Riverwalk Landing to shop for turkeys; indulge in seasonal treats; pre-order holiday meal items; and purchase unique pieces of art from local artists. Make sure you bring the whole family! There will be free kids activities including a Virginia Living Museum live show, a community pie eating contest, balloon animals, and so much more!

Yorktown Market Days is always held rain or shine. The vendors and artists will move into the lower level of the parking terrace in the case of inclement weather. The extra activities, however, may be cancelled and will not be rescheduled. Visitors are encouraged to follow Visit Yorktown’s social media accounts for all event-related changes and announcements.
