Guests of all ages can join this interactive program and march alongside Virginia’s revolutionary soldiers on the path toward a new nation. Participants will see General George Washington inspect the troops, take the oath of allegiance, and stand on the same ground where the heroes of ’76 declared themselves free Americans. The march begins at the Powder Magazine and continues to the Capitol. For more information, see here.
Attendees are encouraged to travel light by leaving large bags at home or in their hotel. Please note that bag checks may be implemented at Colonial Williamsburg venues at any time, and additional security measures may be in place at individual locations. Larger bags, including duffel bags, shoulder bags, and backpacks, may be subject to inspection before entry. Luggage or large cases of any kind are not permitted. For more information on planning an Independence Day weekend visit, guests are encouraged to review the frequently asked questions.
