Courthouses were at the heart of local communities, where people handled business, engaged with government, and witnessed trials and punishments. After a brief exploration of the Courthouse and its surroundings, visitors can take part in a local court session where lives, liberties, and property are debated. Participants may step into the roles of justice, attorney, litigant, petitioner, or defendant to experience how Virginians’ rights were upheld in open court.Please note: adult subject matter.
