After School Director

Williamsburg Montessori School is seeking an After School Director for the Children’s House (ages 3-6) program for the 2024-25 school year.

The Director will:

• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in the WMS After-School Program for children, ages 3-6
• Work the hours of 2:30-5:30 pm
• Prepare the classroom and lessons prior to the arrival of the children
• Develop an interesting and creative program that meets the needs of children who attend the program
• Create lessons and activities appropriate for the 3-6 year-old child
• Supervise children in the classroom and on the playground
• Supervise and work collaboratively with the other members of the After-School Program
• Use language and implement programs consistent with Montessori philosophyPositive language and re-direction
• Child-centered
• Quiet voices
• Encourage independence
• Make sure the program meets VA Licensing Standards
• Manage the after-school budget
• Maintain appropriate communication with parents
• Maintain appropriate communication with administration – inform of needs, events, issues.
• Keep appropriate records and documentation – sign-in and sign-out sheets, attendance, accident/incident reports.
• Clean and make sure the classroom is ready and prepared for the next day at the end of every day
• Make sure all doors are locked at the end of the day
