United Way Day of Caring 2018

Day of Caring

September 7, 2018

Day of Caring is a long-standing tradition of United Way and kicks off the annual campaign.  This yearly event is a volunteer outreach day that matches local projects to volunteer groups and individuals.

Last year, the United Way of the Virginia Peninsula had over 800 volunteers participating in more than 60 projects in our service area.  Projects benefit local nonprofits, partner agencies, and human service providers so that valuable resources can be used towards their mission.  These projects ranged from gardening, mulching, and painting conference rooms and offices, to upgrading floors and building seats for an outside amphitheater.  Together, we made a great impact.
