April 7: Blue Moon (2025) A bittersweet look at one night in the life of lyricist Lorenz Hart as he watches his partner, Richard Rodgers, find massive success with a new partner and their musical, Oklahoma!. Ethan Hawke plays the melancholy song writer, with Bobby Cannavale and Andrew Scott costarring under the direction of Richard Linklater.  1 hr., 40 min. April 14: “Folktales” (2025) In this “warm and big-hearted” documentary, three struggling teenagers enroll in a traditional “folk school” in the Norwegian arctic that teaches confidence by replacing the stresses of modern life with dog sled training and outdoor survival skills. 1 hr., 45 min. (NR)

April 21: “Hamnet” (2025) Following the death of their young son Hamnet, William Shakespeare and his wife Agnes struggle to deal with the loss while continuing to work and care for the rest of their family. Chloe Zhao directed the film, which stars Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal. 2 hrs., 5 min. (PG-13)

April 28: “Plunderer: The Life and Times of a Nazi Art Thief” (2024) Historians in this PBS documentary investigate the life of Bruno Lohse and his role in the Nazi looting of art throughout Europe during and after WWII.  1 hr., 49 min. (TV-PG)

May 5: “Song Sung Blue” (2025) Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson find hometown success and heartache as members of a Neil Diamond tribute band in this musical based on a real-life story. Directed by Craig Brewer, the film costars Ella Anderson. 2 hrs., 12 min. (PG-13)

May 12:  “A Photographic Memory” (2024) Rachel Seed was only a toddler when she lost her mother, a trailblazing journalist and photographer. In this documentary, she ventures into the archives of her mother’s work, including lost interviews with Cecil Beaton, Gordon Parks, and other iconic photographers of the late ‘60s, to forge a connection with the woman she never knew. 1 hr., 25 min. (NR)

May 19:  “A Month by the Lake” (1995) While vacationing in Italy in the 1930s, two women (Vanessa Redgrave, Uma Thurman) vie for the attention of a wealthy veteran of the first World War. This romantic charmer was directed by John Irvin and filmed at lovely Lake Como, Italy. 1 hr., 32 min. (PG)

May 26: “The Wrecking Crew” (2015) This classic music documentary profiles the mostly anonymous L.A. studio musicians who helped create Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound and redefine California pop with Brian Wilson. Interviews, rare footage, and great tracks from the ‘60s and ‘70s testify to their skill in shaping the sound of an era. 1 hr., 41 min. (PG)
