To show their appreciation for the local community, the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation offers free admission to residents of James City County, York County and the City of Williamsburg, including College of William & Mary students. So come again and again to these two great museums!
Who is eligible for FREE admission to Jamestown Settlement & the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown?
- Residents of James City County, York County and the City of Williamsburg
- Qualifying Zip Codes: 23185, 23187, 23188, 23089, 23090, 23127, 23168, 23690, 23691, 23692, 23693, 23694, 23696, 23665
- William & Mary students (with current student ID card)
Bring proof of residency to the visitor services desks at each museum. Each guest must show their own personal proof of local residence.
Examples of proof of residency:
- Valid Virginia driver’s license
- Digital copies of current utility bills
- William & Mary current student ID card
- If you are active military and your driver’s license is from your home state, bring your military ID card and proof of local residence

Bring your friends and family to enjoy Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown throughout the year and explore historical re-creations, world-class exhibition galleries, museum shops and café dining. General admission to Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown is $30.00 for adults and $15.00 for ages 6-12.
Free admission includes general admission and special exhibitions at Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. Separate ticketed programs do not qualify for free admission.

Why not Newport News? We are right outside the “zone” & the kids would love this.
I think it might be due to local taxes. I did see Newport News is giving a local Ambassador pass for their museums – that one looks quite good! Here is the link: https://www.newport-news.org/ambassador-pass/
