July 14: The Summer Book (2024) Glenn Close gives another fine performance as the grandmother of a small child coming to grips with the loss of her mother during a quiet summer on a small island in Finland.  1 hr., 30 min. (NR)

July 21: Into the Amazon (2018) An expedition into the South American rainforest becomes a test of courage in this American Experience documentary, relating the harrowing 1914 journey taken by Theodore Roosevelt and Brazilian explorer Cândido Rondon to chart an unexplored tributary of the Amazon. 1 hr., 53 min. July 28: Róise & Frank (2022) In this charming Irish film, an unusually persistent stray dog shows up at the doorstep of a grieving widow who comes to believe that it may be her reincarnated husband. Aug. 11: The Chorus (Les Choristes) (2004) A mismatched pair of elderly men reflect on their experiences at a school for troubled boys and the particular teacher who had a powerful influence on their lives.
