James City County Fire Department Invites Community to Celebrate 50 Years of Service
The James City County Fire Department (JCCFD) invites the community to celebrate its 50th anniversary on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Warhill High School, 4615 Opportunity Way.
Established in 1976, JCCFD has served the community for five decades, providing fire suppression, emergency medical services, technical rescue, water rescue, fire prevention and public education. Over the years, the department has grown from a small organization into a comprehensive emergency services agency serving the residents and visitors of James City County.
The free, family-friendly event will provide an opportunity for residents to meet the firefighters and paramedics who serve the community, learn about the department’s capabilities and participate in hands-on activities and demonstrations.
Event highlights include:
- Fire apparatus showcase featuring engines, ladder trucks, rescue units and specialty vehicles
- Technical Rescue Team demonstrations
- Dive Team display and equipment demonstrations
- LifeEvac helicopter appearance
- Williamsburg Fire Department Safety House
- Fire safety education and interactive exhibits
- Children’s activities and family entertainment
- Food trucks and refreshments
Current and former members, their families and community residents are encouraged to attend and help commemorate this milestone in the department’s history.
