Peek into the dysfunctional family of Princess Innogen as she fights her parents to marry for love. One of Shakespeare’s four romances, sometimes classified as a tragicomedy, this play is a whirlwind of events — complete with war, slander, mistaken identity, beheading, and a final “recognition scene to end all recognition scenes” that keeps audiences and actors alike gasping through to the final reunions. Intense, physical, sweet, horrifying, and utterly surprising, Cymbeline is a beloved play that is less frequently performed – so catch it when you can!
Based in Tysons, VA, Traveling Players trains teen actors through its vibrant educational programs, including this program that tours Shakespeare professionally. The NEA selected Traveling Players as one of the best 25 places in the country to receive artistic training in the summer.
